- San Diego Food Bank Feeds 350,000 people per month
- In Partnership with over 350 nonprofit community partners
- SD Food Bank collaborates with food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, low-income daycare centers, senior centers, churches, schools, and day centers for the elderly & disabled.
- Are able to distribute to communities throughout San Diego county’s 4,200 square mile radius.
- Provides food to 800 chronically hungry children at 22 elementary schools every Friday during the school year.
- 8,500 low-income seniors are provided with box groceries every month.
- In 2011, the Food Bank distributed 20.4 million pounds of food throughout the year-- this is the equivalent of 16 million meals.
- 95,310 San Diegans are enrolled in the SD Food Bank’s Emergency Food Assistance Program. (In 2010)
- 16,000 people volunteer at the SD Food bank every year.
- 150 direct food distributions in San Diego county every month.
- The SD Food Bank supplies food to 350 nonprofits with feeding programs.
